i’ve edited a wedding video!

There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.

Back in May I was videographeress for a day at my friends Adrian & Samantha’s wedding. I finished this one, part one of two, earlier but had only managed to complete both videos and pass the cd to them just last month. Sorry for the wait guys!

As you will soon see, I’m not a professional so this whole video was shot entirely with a small Canon mini-cam and edited on imovie, the most basic of editing software. But I’m so glad to have done this and really enjoyed myself during the whole process!

Thanks again to Adrian & Samantha for allowing me to put this up and share their joyous day (and some embarrassing moments, mainly the groom’s, I applause your courage) with everyone! “May your hands be forever clasped in friendship, And your hearts joined forever in love.”

coffee makes it better

Suave molecules of Mocha stir up your blood, without causing excess heat; the organ of thought receives from it a feeling of sympathy; work becomes easier and you will sit down without distress to your principal repast which will restore your body and afford you a calm, delicious night.  ~Prince Tallyrand

I have been busy! Catching up with friends, preparing my invitations, creating props for my wedding, helping my friends with a video shoot, shopping for inspiration (and bridesmaid dress. Yes I have decided to have a bridesmaid.) I was going to start on finishing my wedding favours this week, but there was just no time or any added motivation…

So, we started giving out our wedding invitations late last week and are half-way through. As an intro, I had included { 1 + 1 = 1 } on the cover tag and a friend asked me why is that so. My answer is that a wedding is an union, when two individuals join to become one. For a mushy version, I quote the late star Josephine Baker,

He was my cream, and I was his coffee –
And when you poured us together, it was something.

I have loads to share, I may even show off some of our pre-wedding shoot pictures, please come back again!

50s + Rock n Roll + wedding

things I learnt about us in the 50s from the national museum

One day, I went to the National Museum.

It’s been ages since I stepped into the National Museum. I hardly remember how it looked like back in the days when the National Library next door was still around. I still couldn’t believe that tore down that nice building for a short tunnel that has the same start and end point as the road beside it.

The creepy blue dolls on a bench fixture is still there though. Rumor has it they walked in the night.

“Make your lips kissable” – now that never grows old.. while they gave a whole article on it, I’ll give you 8 words: Exfoliate with your toothbrush and get a lipbalm!

Prada Fever

Prada’s new collection of “SWING” sunglasses featured 50s silhouettes in the background with, in my opinion, Predators hairdo or generally speaking, the signature beehive. Shot by Steven Meisel and featuring the vocals of Katey Judd, I believe the 50s are coming back. Just look at what Guess, MNG, Chanel among others are doing now.

Dammi la tua mano e corriamo uniti per tutta la vita

Give me your hand and we will run together our whole lives.

Well, I’m not supposed to suggest ideas for my Christmas gift. But bb and I had a pact. In order to ensure he doesn’t get me anymore gadgets (yes dear, I do appreciate the handphones, printer, ipod, digital camera… etc. All 8 or 9 of them have served me well, but they don’t exactly swoon me over as much as you-know-whats. And yes, we talked about this.), I instructed him to get me a charm bracelet, subsequently, just add a new charm every Christmas which represents what went on that particular year. That way, I get some bling and a gift that’s really meaningful. So far I got a simple heart-shaped one from New York for myself to remind me that I got that from my last flight to New York as a cabin crew and how special the city will always be to me. He, on the other hand, got me the signature Tiffany blue bag. You can figure out the logic behind it, though I think 90% of why he got that for me was just how cute that charm was.

Anyhow, I thought this one could be almost perfect for this year, since we’re planning a honeymoon next January to Europe, and Italy being one of the countries we’re covering. Ciao, my Roman Holiday!

Well, 90% of why I’m doing is now is just how cute that charm is!

here’s a wedding video that inspired

This is an amazing same-day-edit video by RayJoyce Studio! The sound recorded is so crisp and clean! Well, apart from that and that charming not-run-of-the-mill song, I think this gem of a video for couple Eugenia and Michael really captured who they are together.

ban.do for the bride

I’m still at a loss with what I’ll do with my hair and make up on the actual day. So this is what I like to do when I’m lost: Browse through as much pretty images as possible. Saw these at ban.do which I like, gotta love the twiggy-esque make up.

There is no such thing as a pair of poisoned shoes, right?

An update on my wedding preparation before you go back and drool all over your desktop with that picture. I have just finished ALL my invitations, that is, if I don’t fall into the temptation of inviting everybody! Now all that’s left to do is the packaging and I really can’t wait to do that now and give out these pretty things (well, I think they are!). I got a bit of a hiccup now because somebody threw out an essential part of a packaging tool that I needed and now I’m hoping my alternative will work. I do have a simple and faster option, except that that will defeat my purpose of keeping this whole wedding invitation green and as paperless as possible. So please bear with me and let’s play this waiting game together.
