We are back from our honeymoon!
Well, it’s actually been our 3rd day back to Singapore, a cold and rainy one that is! And that has been one of my excuses for lazing around and not doing anything much at all, somehow the gloom makes the perfect atmosphere to do nothing and the bed more inviting than usual.
The honeymoon has not all been a sweet and dreamy one, for that matter, I don’t ever think traveling with me will ever be like that, as people who has been my traveling companions will attest and constantly remind others of that. Well, why pay good money to snooze and do and see nothing when I have my own clean and comfy bed to do all that at home? It just make good cents to me to seize the day, Carpe diem. My sprained right ankle, affectionately known to me as Pig Trotter, didn’t beg to differ as well! This story will be shared when I upload my honeymoon pictures. Morale of the story: Puffy winter clothing, a side-sling shoulder bag and a backpack half my size is not only a fashion faux pas but also potentially a deadly combination.
These are part 2 and the last of my wedding photo booth pictures. Part 1 is here if you missed them!
First, some out-takes:
and good old fashioned red carpet shots:
and these are the photos taken on Jan’s camera. Our camera battery went dead after too many flash shots at the Photo Booth. Another wedding tip if you are doing your own photo booth: Bring extra batteries.
An Apology to all those who have been waiting for this batch of pictures! It’s plain to see, they are seriously overdue.
Hi from The Eternal City!
It’s our last night here in Rome, Italy. Next morning we would be on our way to Athens, Greece! I’m so very excited to share this next news with all of you! Recently I did a guest post on Hindsight Bride, and the post is out today! Christie O. at Hindsight Bride is one of my favourite wedding blogger because of all the advises she shares on her blog, especially if you’re planning a d.i.y. wedding. Please check out the interview here!
Do leave a comment and tell me what you think! Ciao for now!
hugs and kisses,
Pat
Hi friends!
This is going to be a long one! If you haven’t seen the pictures taken before this solemnization, please check out the links below!
After some photo taking at the hotel, we took off in 3 cars to Toucan Irish Pub at Duxton Hill. I wanted only Baby’s Breath and Anna from Spellbound Weddings, along with Ellie, took care of all that flower arrangement for us! She also took my scrappy DIYs and displayed them in manners that far exceeded my expectations.
More pictures from that evening coming up next!
I’d love to hear from you, please drop some comments!
Lotsa love & hugs,
Pat

It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.

Here they are, pictures from my actual day wedding! Because there are so many I wanna share, I’m gonna split them into a few days’ worth of posts. For a start, these are from the early afternoon when the girls are getting ready for the groom and his unfortunate best man to arrive for the gatecrashing. Note, early afternoon. Mornings are really not for me.
Next up, the groom arrives!
You will want to see these next few pictures. Please come back again!

Here’s a short story why you should never give men free creative reins to anything without supervision and that they most likely perform better under pressure, eg, at woman’s constant nagging.
Bb and I have this supposedly romantic idea when we were picking our wedding bands. Each of us have to think of something to engrave onto the ring and neither of us will see the message until our wedding day. I thought long and hard and agonized over a few good choices, but soon it became clear. My message for him on his ring would be:
GROW OLD WITH ME
I picked this for obvious reasons. Both of us love The Beatles and I just love the lyrics to John Lennon’s song:
Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love
Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love
Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end
Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love
Especially the second paragraph. The numerous ways I see it, that line carries a significant meaning. I wondered for the next 6 months or so what his message to me would be.
This is what I get:
S&P
Well, if it was the literal translation to “Just the two of us”, I would much prefer the latter. If it stood for the initials for both our names and appeared in the form of “Salt&Pepper”, I would think it cute. If it was something generic, like “S Loves P”, I’d close one eye, accept it and proudly show it off. But that was it. S&P. And given man’s capability to spun an excuse in a blink of an eye and in this case, the disability to spare more thought to romantic gesture like this, S&P is supposed to mean all that and more.
Did I mention how long it took for Mr Creative to come out with that? At least 3-4 months – the time it took for us to choose and purchase the ring, for the order to reach Paris, for the jeweler to customize a completely new one in rose gold and for the completed order to reach Singapore and came to him in the form of a phone call, requesting him to send a copy of his desired engraving before they ship it to Singapore.
If only I had not insisted on this “No peeping” policy and threatened to paint his nails on the spot, I would had gotten a more satisfactory (permanent) engraving on my wedding band. One good example goes like this.
On our wedding day, to please my mum, we went through the customary tradition of gatecrashing, where the groom will go through all sort of hardship and trials given by the ‘sisters’ on the bride’s side in order to prove to the bride’s parents and the whole village that he is worthy and will take good care of his wife. Nowadays, it’s just a series of fun games for the bride’s side to torture the guys.
One of the 3 tasks that were given was that, bb had to write a message to me, on his nails (and his Best Man’s) with a violet-pink nail polish. A ‘sister’ will then take a picture of the finished ‘manicure’ and send it to a phone inside the room for me to approve his entering. I was told, within seconds, he thought of something and a way to shorten the message so that the nail-coloring will be cut to the minimal. On each nail was a character, and it read:
2 ∞ N Byond
This was something I wrote for him in one of the earlier cards I gave him, in it I expressed my hope for our relationship to go “To Infinity & Beyond”.
Even Buzz Lightyear’s catchphrase would had been nice, in comparison to too-boring-to-be-mentioned-again.
What’s worse, I’m stuck with it till Eternity.
This is gonna one lengthy one!
We had a D.I.Y. Photo Booth at our wedding, if there was one thing I must have at the wedding, this is it. And it proved to be so much fun! With the help of a friend who got the giant big lighting for our dark cosy pub interior and my bridesmaid who helped me manned the booth and occasionally joined in the fun, we simply just have to find props to play with. While I provided some 50s eyewears and D.I.Y. blackboards, Anna from Spellbound Weddings backed me up with boas, instructional chalkboards and more eyewears. I also did a A2-sized poster as a backdrop to my existing fun backdrop which is this giant Guinness barrel sign at the pub, just to make the booth a bit more ours.
While a tripod was provided for ease, convenience and stability, my Photo Booth helper/s chose to liven some of the shots with their off-the-tripod shots.
Phew!
This is just part 1! Stay tuned for part 2!
And if you missed the preview in my Thank You post, here’s the link! ciao!
A hearty gratitude to all our guests who took the time to attend our wedding on Monday. I am extremely touched by all the kind gestures and support from our friends who went the extra mile and contributed each of their unique talent to the wedding. In particular,
Tze, a wonderfully talented musician who composed our very own wedding theme, In Time Love Comes, for the March-In as well as for the first dance. Thank you for all those late nights and the extra white hair that must had grown all the while you were stressing over my strict requirement. It is everything we wanted and more. Excellent job, Tze, everybody loved it! Folks, you know who to look for for that personalised theme song for your wedding!
Rongxi (Rosie), for being so supportive and taking time out of her busy schedule to be my bridesmaid. Thank you for staying with me through the night before and also helping with the Photo Booth. And that video you’re doing for us, I’m sure it’s gonna be great. Thanks for insisting on making the video. And I really love you in that dress!
Henry, for rushing around to requisite the lights for the Photo Booth and also heaving the camera the whole night to document our wedding. You’re such a sweet guy, on a side note, I thought Rosie was going to catch the bouquet!
Leon, my bb’s bestman. You’re really the best man for the job. Thank you for going the distance (literally from across the causeway) and allowing Stefan to spray glitters on your head.
Jan, my extremely talented batchgirl and photographer. Your eye for details never fail to amaze me. Forgive me if I’m not the best model and ruined your shots! ;-P
The sisters, Cindy, Elsa and Tingyi. Thank you for letting Stefan off so easily at the gatecrashing. You girls have been especially helpful and wonderfully efficient at my every beck and call.. haha.. To Cindy, thank you silently supporting us all these while and I think I gave careless Stefan a heavy slap on the arm for making you drive back to the hotel for his IC. It is impossible to ever shake off that band you have with us. To Elsa, my buddy who stuck with me through the tumultuous first 2 years of our flying career, you will always have a special place in my heart. I love you for who you are and your undying loyalty to your friends. Thank you for sourcing the extra Makeup Artists for me and your company for the whole of Sunday and Monday. And gosh, you’re such a pretty receptionist! And a very dedicated one as well! And to Tingyi, Thank you for taking the trouble to prepare yourself for our wedding and be Tze’s pretty assistant for the day! You being with us till the end of the wedding is also greatly appreciated. God must really love me for blessing me friend like all of you.
Pastor Woon and wife, I am so so so grateful that you agreed to officiate our wedding. This means a lot to me. Thank you so very much!
The musicians, Boon Chye, little Bryan, Ramon, Patrick and lo dao Parry. The music was simply fantastic! I hope all of you had fun! Thank you so much to all of you who took the time off to celebrate our wedding with your talent. To Bryan, I really appreciate your dress-up. You’re such a talented musician and you’re truly in a league of your own, especially at your age. To Boon Chye, we are both extremely touched that you actually came back to play with the band, despite being so sick! You brought a tear to Stefan’s eye… maybe more. You can’t imagine how deeply moved we are. To Patrick, your presence is truly appreciated, it’d be such a huge gap to fill in the band if you were not there. To Ramon, thank you for your wonderfully big personality. Everybody loved what you did with the music, and thank you for staying through the night with us so that we can reach the hotel safely in one piece. To lo dao, Thank you for accepting me as your daughter-in-law and blessing us with your love. I’m so proud to have you as my father-in-law.
Anna and Ellie, thank you for your generosity and going the extra mile for us. I love what you did with the decor, the extra touches and thought that went into the look and feel of the place. I’m very very honoured to have both of you as my decorators.
Ganesh, for the poem you written for us. You really have a way with words, I’m looking forward to that book that you should be publishing. If that happens, I want one for my coffee table! You’re too good to be ignored! If you’re willing, I wanna share your poem here soon!
To my brother Danny, you are a great little brother. Thank you for putting up with that jacket and all that extra legwork you have to do for us.
To Keith and helpers, thank you for your kind generosity on our wedding and being so ultra reliable all these while with the gigs!
To Gin, thank you for being so meticulous with my hair and make up. Love what you did, especially the hair!
To all the staff at Toucan Irish Pub, you guys have been great! It was wonderful having our wedding with all of you. Kudos to the chef for the yummilicious food!
Last of all, I’m extremely honored that Lizzie from 10,000 Dollar Wedding did a write up for our engagement shoot and invitation CDs. She has been extremely sweet and I wish her all the best for her upcoming wedding next year! To see her post on our photos, click here!
Once again, I would like to thank everybody for their well-wishes, even those from a million miles away (you know who you are!). We felt your love and are extremely grateful that we have people like you in our lives.
* There are some missing photos of friends that I have not uploaded, check back soon for more pictures from that night’s Photo Booth!

If you remember a post some time back where I experimented making my own hand bouquet for my own d.i.y. photoshoot, here’s a hearty pat because I’m revealing it to you now!
(Well, of course if you have received our invitation, you would already have seen it.)
So first, it started with a simple idea like this one.
Then, I started buying materials and made bunches of fabric flowers. Mixed and match a little bit, learnt how to tie a perfect bow and ta-da, here’s the result!
I’ll be having a real flower bouquet on the actual day, all the better to toss with! All the single ladies, put your hands up!
I got no time for this!
It’s the inaugural Singapore Youth Olympics 2010, I certainly can’t miss this, can I?
And so, I’m juggling, between planning for pre-wedding photoshoot, creating my wedding invitation, marketing/promotion for CE and shifts at Ritz Carlton Main Accreditation Centre for YOG.
Being 30 is no fun at all. August, please be nice to me?
